పచ్చడి తీసుకునేందుకు ఉగాది అత్యంత అనుకూలమైన సమయం కాబట్టి, ఈ సమయంలో ‘శతాయు వజ్రదేహాయ సర్వసంపత్కరాయచ, సర్వారిష్ట వినాశాయనింకం దళబక్షణం’ అనే మంత్రాన్ని ప్రత్యేకంగా జపించి ఈ పచ్చడిని తీసుకోవాలి. దీనర్థం.. వందేళ్ల పాటు వజ్రదేహంతో ఎలాంటి కష్టాలు లేకుండా జీవించాలని కోరుకోవడం.

Scholars say it should be taken from 8 a.m. onwards only after it has been submitted to God.
Since Ugadi is the most auspicious time to take the jaggery, the jaggery should be taken especially at this time by chanting the mantra ‘Shatayu Vajradehaya Sarvasampatkarayacha, Sarvarishta Vinashayaninkam Dalabakshanam’. This means wanting to live with the diamond body for hundreds of years without any hardships.
