RSSB की स्थापना भारत में 1891 में हुई थी[1]। सेठ शिव दयाल सिंह जी ने 1856 में बाबा जयमल सिंह को दीक्षा दी, जिन्होंने तब ब्यास नदी के तट पर कई दिनों तक ध्यान करना शुरू किया। ब्यास नदी के तट पर एक मात्र मिट्टी की झोपड़ी के रूप में शुरू, संगठन के तहत भूमि बढ़ने लगी और आंदोलन फैल गया और अनुयायी बढ़ गए।
