Dear readers, here we are offering PMFBY Opt-out Application Form PDF to all of you. PMFBY was launched in 2016 and replaces all existing crop insurance schemes in India. Kisan Bhai should prepare a copy of the Aadhaar card, a copy of the first page of the bank passbook, land rights document, and other mandatory documents declared by the state government for registration under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. The last date for registration in Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana is 31 July 2023. This scheme has been started to encourage the crop area. The scheme has enhanced coverage under localized risks, post-harvest losses etc. The Central Government’s Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and Restructured Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme provide protection against the risks faced by the Kharif crop in the country in order to provide security to the crops.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, any farmer in the country can avoid the possible financial loss to the crops by contacting the officials of the agriculture department of their districts or by getting information about the state notification and getting the registration done before the last date of the scheme.

This Department is regularly monitoring the implementation of PMFBY including timely settlement of claims through weekly video conferences of stakeholders, one-to-one meetings with insurance companies/States, etc. Various innovative technologies are also adopted to increase the timeliness for the flow of requisite information/data among stakeholders.

Since the inception of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) in 2016-17, coverage under the scheme has been around 30% of Gross Cropped Area (GCA) in the States/UTs who are implementing the scheme.
