Honeywell XNX Universal Gas Transmitter Fault Codes

What can cause an F161 fault on the XNX?

F161 on the XNX will indicate an mA input fault from the connected sensor Search point Optima Plus or the Searchline Excel. If the mA output on the Optima Plus or Excel is below 1 mA it will indicate that the sensor is at fault.

  • Perform a “Soft Reset” in the XNX to see if the F161 clears.
  • Always perform a soft reset after connecting the Search point Optima and XNX transmitter for the first time.
  • The soft reset is performed by accessing the transmitter’s Calibration Menu.
  • When the XNX completes a boot-up, perform a soft reset (see Section 3.6 Soft Reset) on the Excel sensor from the Calibration Menu. When the soft reset is initiated, the RS-485 communication will be temporarily interrupted and faults F120 and/or F161 may be observed. The RS-485 communication will be re-established in a few minutes and the faults will automatically be reset in the Non-Latching mode.
  • F120 and/or F161 must be reset manually in the Latching mode.
